The Normal Neck

cstartjpeg.JPG

This is what a normal cervical spine looks like.  Notice the gradual curve, the spacing between each vertebra, the shape of each vertebra and the overall balance with the top bone balanced on top of the bottom bone.  This alignment allows for proper movement as well as optimal strength.   Remember that the spinal cord, every nerve in your body (except the cranial nerves) travels right behind the vertebral body.  The cord is custom fit into this configuration.  Any other configuration will place increased pressure on the spinal joints and the spinal cord. Not good.
